During our recent holiday at Ayre Hotel & Ayre Apartments, I was delighted by its prime location near Kirkwall harbour, making it an ideal base for exploring while enjoying the local shops and eateries. The spacious, beautifully furnished apartment provided the perfect setting for our family; we appreciated the well-equipped kitchen that allowed us to cook after a day of adventures. While the contemporary dining room offered excellent meals, particularly the locally sourced Orkney dishes, I found my morning showers less than satisfying due to the large ceiling shower head, which wasn't suitable for my elderly mother-in-law. Nonetheless, the staff were incredibly friendly and the overall cleanliness of our rooms was commendable. For those who enjoy unwinding in a vibrant atmosphere, the traditional bar with its local drinks and pool table is a fantastic spot after a long day of sightseeing. Awaiting new memories and fresh adventures, this hotel undoubtedly sets the scene for a remarkable family getaway.
